The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has lauded Governor Malam Umar Namadi for constituting the 2026 Hajj Exercise Committee and appointing the Emir of Dutse, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mohammed Hameem Nuhu Sunusi, as the state’s Amirul Hajj.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued in Dutse and signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Habibu Yusuf Babura ANIPR.
According to the statement, the Board described the appointment of the Emir and other committee members as well deserved, noting that the decision reflects the governor’s foresight and commitment to ensuring a successful Hajj operation.
It stated that the Board, under the leadership of its Director-General, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, has pledged its full cooperation and support to the new Amirul Hajj in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Babura quoted Alhaji Labbo as saying that the selection of the Sarkin Dutse was most appropriate, considering his strong religious background, integrity and longstanding role as a community leader in Jigawa State.
He added that the Amirul Hajj possesses the requisite religious knowledge and leadership qualities needed to guide pilgrims effectively, assuring that the Board would work closely with him and benefit from his experience and counsel.
Alhaji Labbo also congratulated the Amirul Hajj on his appointment and reaffirmed the commitment of the Board’s staff to work diligently with him to ensure a smooth and hitch-free 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Board further commended Governor Namadi for the choice, describing it as a step in the right direction towards strengthening Hajj administration in the state.
