A women-led political organisation under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Danmodi Mata Zallah (Danmodi Purely Women), has been inaugurated in Jigawa State with a bold resolve to mobilise no fewer than 500,000 votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Malam Umar Namadi in the 2027 general elections.

The group was inaugurated by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Hon. Ibrahim Garba Hannungiwa, who commended the women for their courage, vision and high level of organisation, describing their emergence as a significant milestone in the party’s political mobilisation drive.

Hannungiwa noted that although many women’s organisations exist within the political space, Danmodi Mata Zallah stands out for its clear structure, focus and political consciousness.

“Women’s political awakening is highly encouraging. While there are many women’s groups, none has demonstrated this level of organisation and commitment. They have mobilised themselves to support our President and our Governor under the APC. I am truly impressed,” he said.

The commissioner also reviewed the progress of the APC’s ongoing electronic registration (e-registration) exercise, following a recent stakeholders’ meeting convened by Governor Namadi, describing the process so far as satisfactory.

He further called on religious leaders to intensify public enlightenment, stressing that knowledge remains the greatest legacy of the prophets.

“Our ulama must rise to the task of enlightening the people, both men and women. When women are left uneducated, they become vulnerable to misinformation and external influence,” Hannungiwa warned.

According to him, empowering women through education and awareness would strengthen society, preserve moral values and deepen inclusive political participation.

Earlier in her address, the State Coordinator of Danmodi Mata Zallah, Hajiya Maryam Muhammad Abubakar, said the group was formed to sensitise and mobilise women across Jigawa State to support and vote for President Tinubu, Governor Namadi and all APC candidates.

She described the association as a movement of patriotic and politically conscious women committed to the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Namadi for second terms in 2027.

“Our objective is clear to secure at least 500,000 women’s votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Malam Umar Namadi in the 2027 elections, by the grace of God,” she said.

Hajiya Maryam disclosed that the group operates a robust grassroots structure, with coordinators across the 27 local government areas of the state, 287 ward coordinators, and 4,522 polling unit coordinators, aimed at ensuring effective mobilisation and voter outreach ahead of the polls.
