A prominent All Progressive Congress (APC) support group in Jigawa state known as Faruk Support Organization (FSO), has applauded the party’s decision to zone its national chairmanship position to the North-West geopolitical zone.

The group conveyed its position in a statement made available to TRUTHS FINDER in Dutse, the state capital describing the development as “a welcome and strategic step.” It also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing what it called “progressive leadership” in strengthening the party’s internal structure.

According to the statement, strong signals indicate that the APC is close to finalizing the zoning arrangement ahead of its forthcoming national leadership election.

An official of the FSO, Amb. M.S. Ringim, revealed that Jigawa State is gaining serious consideration for the position, with growing support tipping former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, as a top contender.

“Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, who represented Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency between 2003 and 2007, is widely recognized as one of the foundational pillars of the APC at the national level,” he said.

Similarly, former APC State Administrative Secretary and party stalwart, Comrade Ali Maina, noted that the current political climate places a premium on selecting a chairman with unquestionable integrity, strong character, national appeal, and a clean record devoid of anti-party activities.

According to him, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu embodies these qualities.

He described Aliyu as “a symbol of loyalty and unwavering commitment to the party’s ideals,” adding that his unblemished political, professional, and social record has earned him trust across the party’s structures.

“He is one of the most reliable pillars the APC can count on to maintain unity, stability, and progress,” he said.

Maina further stressed that Aliyu is not associated with desperate political manoeuvres, a trait that distinguishes him from others who seek relevance without a solid legacy.

Supporters believe that if given the mandate, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu will consolidate on his long-standing contributions to the APC and propel its vision at both state and national levels.

The APC is expected to conclude its zoning arrangements in the coming days, after which official nominations and consultations will begin in earnest.
