The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, has boosted inclusive education efforts in the state with the donation of school uniforms, books, and essential learning aids to pupils and students living with disabilities.
The items were distributed during a brief ceremony in Dutse, where the Speaker was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Akeel Akeel. He said the gesture underscores Dangyatin’s resolve to support vulnerable children and ensure they have access to quality basic education.
“Rt. Hon. Haruna wanted to be here personally, but he is on an important official assignment for the good of the state and the nation,” Akeel stated while conveying the Speaker’s greetings. “Even though he is not here physically, his mind and spirit are with you.”
Akeel explained that the initiative was designed not only for children with disabilities but also for children of Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) and other less-privileged pupils across the constituency.
“This donation is part of the Speaker’s commitment to reducing the number of out-of-school children in Jigawa and building a literate, promising future for our communities,” he added.
Items distributed included male and female school uniforms, textbooks, school bags, hearing aids, walking sticks, and other assistive materials.
The Speaker urged beneficiaries to make good use of the support, while calling on parents and guardians to remain committed to their children’s education.
