The inestimable leader of the talakawas, Dr. Sule Lamido, CON, together with Alhaji Lawal Batagarawa, paid a significant visit today to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, at his residence in Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.

During the visit, the statesmen engaged in deep and fruitful conversations centered on the current state of the nation. Their discussion explored critical national challenges, the direction of Nigeria’s democracy, and the collective responsibility of leaders to steer the country toward stability, unity, and progress.

The meeting reflects a continued commitment by respected national figures to dialogue, collaboration, and the pursuit of solutions that will advance the welfare of citizens and strengthen the nation’s democratic foundations.

Sule Lamido is one of the remaining founding fathers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) a political platform which under its former president Olusegu Obasanjo became two terms president in the country.

The former Jigawa State governor who never left the party (PDP) since it’s registration in 1998 despite the Nigerian politicians crosscapeting culture from one opposition to rulling political party.

Lamido’s visit to his boss chief Olusegu Obasanjo may likely be in connection with his present political prostration in PDP.

It’s could also recalled that the former foreign affairs minister’s political loyalists asked him (Lamido) to find them next political platform as PDP is in crisis the may not survive it and made impact before the 2027 general elections.

Analysis also attributed the Sule Lamido’s visit to former president Olusegu Obasanjo in his Abekuta resident to the expirations of 10 days ultimatum given to PDP to cancel its illegal Ibadan national delegate earlier stopped by courts.
