The Jigawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi has made a N15, 572,846,717.29k 2025 last minute expenditures for various development projects and service in the state.
This is contained in a statement of the outcome of the state executive council meeting presided over by the governor, signed by the commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr Sagiru Musa Ahmed and obtained by TRUTH FINDER in Dutse, the state capital.
According to the statement the state executive council had approved the sum of N4,475,820,276.42 for the construction of midwifery quarters, Wall fence, gates, and gate houses, Solar water & power installations, Renovation of existing structures and Supply of hospital equipment, “N225,118,701.17 for settlement of outstanding drug and medical consumable expenditures at Dutse, Gumel, and Hadejia General Hospitals, supplied by JIPHARMA LTD”
Mr. Sagiru Musa Ahmed noted that the council in season approved N3,028,086,509.27 for maintenance and upgrade of electrification projects to improve electricity access across the state and N2,651,596,547.52 for 2026 Hajj operations to covers logistics, welfare, medical services, administrative arrangements, and other components to ensure a smooth and well-organized Hajj for Jigawa pilgrims.
A total sum of N2,126,904,765.82 had been approved for the construction of Admin Blocks, Classrooms, Students’ Hostels, Staff Quarters, Multi-Purpose Halls at GSTCs in Auyo, Birnin Kudu & Yankwashi
“In line with the education transformation agenda, the Council approved N1,303,545,686.00 for bursary allowances to 19,716 newly screened students (12,638 males and 7,088 females) across 77 tertiary institutions”, Ahmed emphasis.
The statement further stated that ₦409,013,315.05 had been approved for construction of Jigawa State Geographic Information Service (JIGIS) buildings and ₦298,910,946.61 for construction of 1 Block of Wire House & renovation of 4 Blocks of Workshops at the Technology Incubation Centre.
“The SEC approved ₦374,111,331.68 for engagement of a consultancy firm to supervise construction of 560 housing units (3-Bedroom detached & 2-Bedroom semi-detached houses) statewide.He added that the sum of N476,605,648.00 for compensation of verified persons affected by the 500Ha expansion of the Maigatari Export Border Free Zone Market and N577,244,361.43 for procurement of a 350-meter deep Indian Rig Machine for RUWASA to expand water supply infrastructure across Jigawa State.
“This aligns with the Government’s Educational Transformation Agenda”, Commissioner said.
