Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi, has received an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding commitment to educational development and visionary leadership in the state.

The award was conferred by the Civil Society Coalition on Peace, Security and Conflict Resolution during a one-day roundtable discussion on basic education held at the Council Chamber, Government House, Dutse, with key stakeholders in attendance.

In a statement made available to Truths Finder, the Chairman of the Coalition, Comrade Muhammad Musbahu Basirka, said the award—symbolised by a commemorative plaque—acknowledges Governor Namadi’s role as an “Architect of Educational Excellence.”

According to him, the honour reflects the governor’s deliberate and sustained reforms aimed at prioritising access, quality and equity in basic education across Jigawa State.

The statement noted that the reforms include increased investment in school infrastructure, strategic teacher recruitment and capacity development, as well as policies designed to strengthen inclusive learning for present and future generations.

While presenting the award, the Coalition stressed that Governor Namadi’s education agenda has gone beyond rhetoric to practical action, laying a solid foundation for a more educated, prosperous and socially stable Jigawa State.

Comrade Basirka added that the governor’s leadership continues to inspire confidence among education stakeholders and reinforces education as a critical pillar for peace, security and sustainable development.

The Coalition further reaffirmed its commitment to continued partnership with the Jigawa State Government in advancing education reforms that will guarantee improved learning outcomes and long-term human capital development across the state.
