The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Jigawa State has pledged to design a simplified and people-friendly approach to help Nigerians better understand tax policies and their benefits to national development.
This assurance was contained in a New Year goodwill message signed by the Head of Media and Communication of the agency, Miss Sarah Ogodo, and made available to TRUTHS FINDER in Dutse, the state capital.
According to the statement, the NOA Director in Jigawa State, Malam Tijjani Ahmad Ibrahim, congratulated Nigerians on the successful transition into the New Year, commending the prevailing peace and harmony across the country.
Miss Ogodo said the Director applauded citizens for their resilience, patriotism and sustained hope in Nigeria despite the economic challenges experienced in the past year, largely arising from ongoing reforms introduced by the Federal Government to reposition the nation’s socio-economic and political systems.
She noted that Malam Ibrahim reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to intensifying public enlightenment on government programmes, policies and activities to elicit positive public response and enhance citizens’ understanding of their civic responsibilities as well as the role of government.
On tax reforms, the NOA Director assured Nigerians that the agency would adopt simplified communication strategies to demystify tax policies and clearly explain their importance to national growth and development.
“The Agency will continue to educate the public in clear and simple terms, especially on tax policies, so that citizens can understand their benefits and comply willingly,” the statement said.
The agency urged Nigerians to embrace the New Year with renewed hope and collective commitment to supporting government at all levels to achieve its developmental vision.
Malam Ibrahim also prayed for a year filled with happiness and outstanding success for the government and people of Jigawa State, and Nigerians at large.
