The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has appointed Hon. (Engr.) Magaji Da’u Aliyu as its Deputy Director General (North).
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director-General of the group, Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, and obtained by TRUTH FINDER in Dutse.
Yakasai said the appointment reflects Hon. Aliyu’s “proven capacity for leadership, deep grassroots reach, and long-standing commitment to national development and democratic governance.”
He noted that Aliyu was chosen strictly on merit, citing his significant contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape.

“A seasoned political figure with decades of public service experience, Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu commands respect across party lines.
He is known for strategic leadership, strong administrative competence, and consistent advocacy for reforms that directly impact citizens’ welfare,” the statement added.
Hon. Aliyu served two consecutive terms in the House of Representatives, representing Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency of Jigawa State.
He emerged as one of the most influential lawmakers in the 9th Assembly, driven by a passion for effective governance and national progress.
As Chairman of the House Committee on Power (2019–2023), he provided direction in one of Nigeria’s most challenging sectors.
He led major oversight activities, convened critical stakeholder meetings, and championed interventions aimed at strengthening electricity generation, transmission, and distribution nationwide efforts that earned commendations from the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and the House leadership.

Beyond the power sector, Aliyu played active roles in legislative debates, national policy reviews, constituency development, and political mobilization.
He is widely acknowledged for building consensus among diverse stakeholders and maintaining strong grassroots connections.
According to Dr. Yakasai, “Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu is a man of proven integrity, dedication, and capacity. His political experience, strategic insight, and commitment to national development make him an invaluable addition to our leadership. We are confident that his contributions will further strengthen the Tinubu Support Group, especially across the northern region.”
While Hon. Aliyu’s academic credentials including a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development and multiple professional qualifications underscore his intellectual depth, the statement noted that it is his political influence, governance experience, and strategic leadership that uniquely position him for the role.
TSG congratulated Hon. (Engr.) Magaji Da’u Aliyu on his appointment and expressed optimism about the vision, energy, and political strength he will bring to the organization.
