Fresh indications have emerged that the reconciliation process within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State is gathering momentum, following a rare public appearance by the party’s leading political figures who had been on opposing sides of the party’s controversial governorship primary.
The renewed display of unity was witnessed during a condolence visit to Kazaure Local Government Area, where the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Muhammad Sabo Nakudu, and his former rival, Hon. Dr. Bashir Adamu Jumbo, OFR (Matawallen Kazaure), jointly led a delegation of senior party officials to sympathise with bereaved families.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the ADC Publicity Secretary in Kazaure Local Government, Mustapha Ibrahim Danshatu, who described the visit as a reflection of the party’s growing unity, compassion and commitment to strengthening internal cohesion.

According to the statement, the delegation also included Hon. Aliyu Muhammad Tukur Gantsa and other prominent party leaders who visited several families in Kazaure town to offer condolences over recent bereavements.
During the visit, the delegation first paid tribute to the family of the late Alhaji Ado at Kofar Kudu before proceeding to Wajen Gabas and Kantudu to condole with the families of the late Tahir Adamu and Mallam Yusif Aduwa. They also visited Sergeant Munkaila to sympathise with him over the death of his wife.
At every stop, prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased, while the bereaved families were encouraged to remain patient and accept the losses as the will of Almighty Allah.
The leaders equally prayed for peace, unity and continued progress within the ADC as the party prepares for future political engagements.

Party stakeholders who accompanied the delegation included the ADC State Vice Chairman for Jigawa North-West, Hon. Sadis Abubakar Mabo; the Kazaure Local Government Chairman, Hon. Sani Shu’aibu Deesaro; stakeholder Hon. Surajo Muhammad Bandutse; the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Kazaure Constituency, Hon. Aliyu Hussaini Custom, alongside ward executives and other party faithful.
Danshatu commended party members for their impressive turnout and support, saying their commitment was a strong indication that the ADC was emerging stronger from its internal challenges.

Background to the Crisis
The latest development comes months after the ADC was thrown into internal turmoil following its governorship primary election, which exposed sharp divisions between the party’s founding members and influential defectors from the APC and NNPP.
The contest pitted Senator Muhammad Sabo Nakudu against Hon. Dr. Bashir Adamu Jumbo, with Nakudu eventually emerging as the party’s governorship candidate.
However, Jumbo and his supporters rejected the outcome, alleging that the primary election was marred by irregularities, procedural violations and violence. The faction subsequently petitioned the party’s appeal committee, demanding the cancellation of the exercise.
Although the appeal generated intense political tension within the party, recent developments including the joint condolence visit have fuelled optimism among party faithful that the reconciliation process is yielding positive results.
Political observers believe the public appearance of both leaders, alongside state and local party executives, represents one of the clearest signs yet that the ADC is gradually closing ranks after the bitter primary contest and repositioning itself ahead of future political activities in Jigawa State.
