Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Engr. Aminu Usman, has appealed to the people of the state to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and give Governor Umar Namadi another mandate in the 2027 governorship election.

Usman said continuity was essential to enable the Namadi administration complete ongoing development projects and consolidate the gains recorded across the state.

The deputy governor spoke when journalists under the Correspondents’ Chapel paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Dutse.

He said his re-selection as Namadi’s running mate for the 2027 election was a great honour and a renewed call to serve the people of Jigawa with greater commitment.

Usman expressed appreciation to Governor Namadi for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to continue supporting the administration’s development agenda.

He highlighted the administration’s interventions in road construction and rehabilitation, education, healthcare, agriculture, rural electrification, water supply and social protection as some of the areas where the state had recorded progress.

According to him, the projects and programmes being implemented across the state require sustained support and continuity to ensure that residents derive maximum benefits from them.

He therefore urged Jigawa voters to retain the APC in 2027, saying the party had demonstrated commitment to improving infrastructure and the welfare of the people.

“I consider this nomination not only a great honour, but also a renewed call to service and responsibility to the good people of Jigawa State,” Usman said.

The deputy governor also commended members of the media for their role in informing and educating the public, urging them to sustain responsible and constructive reporting.

He thanked the journalists for their visit and for joining his family at the wedding ceremony of his son, describing their presence and goodwill as a source of joy.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr Zangina Kura, congratulated Usman on his re-selection as Namadi’s running mate.

Kura said the decision demonstrated the trust and confidence Governor Namadi had in his deputy.

He noted that the delegation comprised journalists from various national newspapers, television and radio stations operating under the Correspondents’ Chapel.

“Your selection for the second time is a clear testimony of the good and cordial working relationship between you and Governor Umar Namadi. It is also an indication of the trust and confidence the governor has in you,” Kura said.

He commended Usman for his loyalty, hard work and support for the Namadi administration, saying the government had recorded positive developments across the state.

Kura urged the deputy governor to sustain his cooperation with the media and other stakeholders in advancing the development of Jigawa State.
