The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Jigawa State Directorate, has expressed condolences to the Gumel Emirate, the government and people of Jigawa state over the death of the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Sani.
In a statement issued by the agency’s Head of Communication and Media, Sarah Ogodo, the NOA said it received with profound grief the death of the 16th Emir of Gumel, who passed away after a long and distinguished reign.
The State Director of NOA, Malam Ahmad Tijjani Ibrahim, described the late monarch as a long-reigning traditional ruler, revered custodian of culture and tradition, and a beacon of peace, unity and development in Gumel Emirate and Jigawa State.
Ahmad said the late Emir devoted his reign to the welfare of his subjects, promotion of education, Islamic values and community development.
He added that the monarch’s wisdom, humility and fatherly leadership earned him respect and admiration beyond the boundaries of Gumel Emirate and Jigawa State.
According to him, the Emir’s death was a monumental loss not only to the people of Gumel Emirate and Jigawa State but also to Nigeria as a whole.
“On behalf of the management and staff of the National Orientation Agency, Jigawa State Directorate, we extend our deepest condolences to the Gumel Emirate Council, the immediate royal family, the Government and the good people of Jigawa State,” he said.
The NOA prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the late Emir’s shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus and give his family, the Emirate Council and the people of Gumel the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
