The Dutse Municipal Council in Jigawa State has recruited 110 temporary teachers under the D-Teach programme as part of efforts to strengthen manpower in primary and junior secondary schools.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the Council Chairman on Media and Publicity, Abdulrazak Adamu Dutse, who said the exercise reflects the commitment of the Council Chairman, Dr. Sibu Abdullahi, to improving educational standards across the municipality.
According to him, the Council Chairman—who also serves as the Jigawa State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON)—approved the engagement of 110 qualified applicants to serve as temporary teachers.
He noted that the initiative aligns with the administration’s drive to ensure that schools in the area are adequately staffed with competent personnel capable of delivering quality learning.
“The action is part of the Dutse Municipal Council Chairman’s sustained interest in the educational development of the area and the state at large,” the statement added.
He further explained that the latest recruitment complements earlier efforts by the previous administration, all aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning for children in the municipality.
