The Civil Society Coalition on Peace, Security, and Conflict Resolution (CCSPCR) has commended the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) for its strategic guidance, technical support, and sustained encouragement that strengthened the alignment of community-based initiatives with national security priorities.
This was contained in a New Year 2026 goodwill message to the government and people of Jigawa State, issued in a press statement signed by the Communication and Strategy Officer of the Coalition, Mrs Maryam Ibrahim, and made available to Truths Finder in Dutse, the state capital.
According to the statement, the Coalition also expressed deep appreciation to the Jigawa State Government for its proactive leadership, political will, and consistent support for peace and security efforts.
“The enabling environment created by the Jigawa State Government has allowed peace and security initiatives to reach communities across all the 27 local government areas of the state,” the statement said.
The Coalition emphasised that while conflicts may arise in any society, violence is not inevitable, stressing its continued commitment to promoting traditional, religious, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
These approaches, it noted, remain vital in addressing disputes related to land, resources, and communal relations in a fair, inclusive, and peaceful manner.
Mrs Ibrahim further conveyed the Coalition’s profound appreciation to the people of Jigawa State for their resilience, peaceful disposition, and sustained commitment to the state’s cherished legacy of hospitality, tolerance, and communal harmony.
“These enduring values continue to distinguish Jigawa State as a beacon of peace in the North-West region,” the statement noted, adding that as Nigerians usher in the New Year, residents of the state were urged to remain vigilant, embrace dialogue, and uphold the principles of peaceful coexistence.
The Coalition stressed that security is a collective responsibility, calling on citizens to be their brother’s keeper, report suspicious activities through appropriate channels, and always choose dialogue over confrontation.
Mrs Ibrahim reaffirmed that CCSPCR remains resolute in its mission to collaborate with government institutions, security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, women, youth, and other civil society actors to consolidate peace and stability across the state.
The statement concluded with a goodwill message, expressing hope that the year 2026 would usher in abundant harvests, improved security, social harmony, and sustainable progress for every household in Jigawa State.
