A coalition of Islamic clerics, Quran memorizers and Tsangaya teachers in Jigawa State has declared support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made its position known during a solidarity visit to Nakudu at his residence in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
The delegation said it decided to support the ADC candidate because it was convinced about his candidature, policies and development agenda for the state.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Goni Mai Bindiga Hadejia said the group was at the meeting to declare its support and allegiance to Nakudu’s 2027 governorship bid.
He said the clerics and Tsangaya teachers were particularly interested in the candidate’s policies and plans to improve the welfare and development of the people.
Responding, Nakudu said his decision to contest the 2027 governorship election was driven by the need to re-engineer governance, improve living conditions and restore public confidence in government.
The ADC flag bearer described his ambition as a rescue mission aimed at addressing what he described as poor leadership, strengthening governance and easing the economic hardship confronting residents.

Nakudu promised to run an open, transparent and accountable administration, saying citizens’ needs, concerns and complaints would guide government policies and programmes if elected.
He thanked the delegation for its support and pledged closer collaboration with stakeholders in Islamic education to promote the welfare and development of the people.
Also speaking, Hon. Ado Sani Kiri, pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State and a key ADC stakeholder, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects of winning the 2027 general elections.
He urged the Alaramomomi and Tsangaya teachers to sustain their prayers and mobilisation for the ADC and its candidates across all levels of the elections.
