The Federal Ministry of Health has directed Dr. Adamu Abdullahi Atterwahmie to continue serving as Acting Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued and signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations of the hospital, Mr. Auwalu Yusuf Birnin Kudu, and made available to Online Tribune in Dutse.

According to the statement, the approval was conveyed through a letter signed by the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako.

“The Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, has approved the appointment of Dr. Adamu Abdullahi Atterwahmie as the Acting Medical Director of FMC Birnin Kudu with effect from 30th November 2025,” the statement read.

It added that the directive followed the expiration of the tenure of the former Medical Director on 29th November 2025. 

“Following this, Dr. Atterwahmie will serve in this acting capacity pending the President’s approval of his reappointment as the substantive Medical Director for another and final term of four years,” it said.

The approval was conveyed in a letter referenced FMC/DHS/018/11/52, dated 27th November 2025.

The statement congratulated Dr. Atterwahmie on the development and expressed optimism that he would continue to receive the support of the hospital community and the public.
