The former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido has congratulated the former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing him as a principled leader and a true champion of the masses.
In a congratulatory message issued Lamido praised Tambuwal’s decades-long contribution to Nigeria’s political development, noting his uncommon humility, integrity, and commitment to public service.
Alhaji Sule Lamido recalled Tambuwal’s remarkable political journey from a brief legal practice to serving as a legislative aide, his election into the House of Representatives, rising to become Speaker of the House of Representatives, and later emerging as Governor of Sokoto State.

The People Democratic Party (PDP) founding father also noted Tambuwal’s leadership roles as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Deputy Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, describing them as evidence of the trust reposed in him by his peers.
According to him Tambuwal stands out among Nigerian politicians for his respect for elders, peaceful disposition, accessibility, and constant presence at community events, including moments of joy and sorrow. He said the celebrant’s ability to relate with people across all social strata has earned him widespread admiration nationwide.
“From the beginning of his political career to date, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has maintained clean public conduct, dignified speech, and respect for humanity. He is a leader endowed with wisdom, intellect, eloquence, and a clear sense of purpose in governance,” Lamido stated.

The former Jigawa governor prayed for good health, long life, and greater achievements for the Sokoto-born politician, expressing optimism that Tambuwal’s future years would surpass his past accomplishments.
Lamido concluded by wishing the former Speaker a joyous 60th birthday celebration and continued relevance in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
