The Jigawa State chapter of the City Boy Movement has vowed to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work towards delivering the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

The movement also reaffirmed its target of mobilising two million votes from Jigawa State for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement and Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, disclosed this while speaking with journalists on the movement’s preparations for the 2027 elections.

Dangyatin said that despite his primary responsibility as Speaker and lawmaker, he remained committed to coordinating the activities of the City Boy Movement in the state.

He said the movement had established structures across the 27 local government areas, wards and polling units, with plans to strengthen mobilisation ahead of the elections.

“We have all the structures on ground. We have the complete state structure waiting for integration from the national body. We have local government structures up to ward and polling unit levels. At each polling unit, we have at least five people. When you multiply that by almost 4,522 polling units, you can see the number of people already on ground waiting to start work,” he said.

The Speaker said the movement would work with other APC support groups to mobilise voters and communicate what it described as the achievements of President Tinubu and Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, to the electorate.

“Despite my primary duty of law-making and serving as Speaker of the State Assembly, I am also committed to the duties and responsibilities of the City Boy Movement. We are determined to deliver Jigawa to the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Malam Umar Namadi with a wide margin of victory,” Dangyatin said.

He disclosed that consultations and mobilisation had already commenced across the state, including engagements with political stakeholders and supporters of other political parties.

According to him, the movement is waiting for the national body to complete the integration and upgrading of its state council before commencing full-scale activities.

“Consultations have started. We have started consulting with different people. If you are in Jigawa, you will be hearing that people are decamping from various political parties to the APC,” he said.

Dangyatin reiterated the movement’s two-million-vote target for President Tinubu, saying polling-unit coordinators would play a key role in grassroots mobilisation, voter engagement and campaign activities.

“They are there to mobilise people, campaign and tell people what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done for Jigawa State and its people,” he said.

On opposition parties, the Speaker said the movement would not take its mobilisation efforts for granted, stressing the need for the APC and its support groups to continue strengthening their grassroots structures.

“We are local politicians. We are on ground and we know how to do our work. We are determined to make sure that we deliver the APC from top to bottom,” Dangyatin said.
