Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would record a landslide victory in the 2027 presidential election, insisting that no opposition candidate, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, could stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from securing re-election.

Namadi spoke shortly after participating in the APC presidential primary election at his polling ward in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The governor reaffirmed his earlier pledge to deliver more than one million votes to President Tinubu in the 2027 general election, describing the target as “achievable” considering the level of support enjoyed by the APC in the state.

He said the massive turnout of party members during the primary election reflected the confidence Nigerians, particularly Jigawa residents, have in President Tinubu and the APC-led administration.

“As you can see, people came out in large numbers for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is a clear indication of the confidence the people have in him and in the APC,” Namadi said.

According to him, the orderly conduct of the primary election further demonstrated President Tinubu’s commitment to internal democracy and democratic principles.

“What is most important is internal democracy. The President allowed the democratic process to prevail freely, and that shows he is a true democrat committed to the growth of democracy in Nigeria,” he stated.

The governor expressed optimism that the outcome of the APC primary election was a pointer to what would happen in the 2027 general election, predicting victory for the ruling party at all levels.

“The result is glaring. By the grace of God, 2027 will be a walkover for APC because the people have confidence in the party and in the government,” he added.

Namadi also maintained that Jigawa State remained one of the strongest support bases of the APC, noting that the state currently ranks among the highest in voter registration.

“You can see the number of people that came out. Jigawa is leading in voter registration, and that shows we are ready to achieve our target of over one million votes for the President,” he said.

Reacting to speculations that former President Jonathan may contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the governor said the APC was not threatened by any opposition figure.

“This is democracy. Anybody can contest, but when Nigerians decide, the result will be clear. APC is ready for any opposition, and by God’s grace, we will deliver President Tinubu again in 2027,” Namadi declared.
