The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the judiciary for the restoration of the Aujara State Assembly Constituency and other constituencies across the country.Nakudu described the development as a major victory for democracy, justice and fair representation, saying it would further strengthen public confidence in democratic institutions.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of the ADC Unity and Advocacy Forum, Mr Mati Ali, and made available to journalists in Dutse.According to the statement, the ADC governorship candidate also acknowledged the contributions of political stakeholders, community leaders and other individuals whose efforts culminated in the successful restoration of the constituency.
He noted that the recognition and restoration of the Aujara State Constituency by INEC marked a historic milestone for the people of the area, restoring a democratic right they had long sought.Nakudu said the development was not only a victory for the people of Aujara but also a triumph for democratic governance, inclusion and institutional fairness.
“The people of Aujara have demonstrated remarkable patience, resilience and unwavering faith in the democratic process over the years. Their perseverance has now been rewarded with the restoration of their political voice within the state’s legislative framework,” he stated.
The ADC standard-bearer urged residents of the constituency to remain united and peaceful as political parties begin preparations for fresh primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also called on them to deepen their civic engagement and support the emergence of credible leaders capable of driving sustainable development in the constituency.
Nakudu, on behalf of his family, supporters and the ADC, congratulated the people of Aujara on what he described as a new chapter in their political history.
He expressed optimism that the restoration of the constituency would usher in renewed hope, accelerated development and greater participation in governance for present and future generations.
