The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency, Hon. Aminu Wada Abubakar, has unveiled an ambitious legislative agenda focused on attracting federal projects, empowering youths and women, reducing poverty and tackling social vices in the constituency.
Abubakar made the commitment while formally launching his campaign at a stakeholders’ meeting held at Mtown Hotel in Dutse, Jigawa State capital.
He promised to give the constituency effective representation at the National Assembly and ensure that it gets its fair share of federal government projects, programmes and interventions.
According to him, his priority would be to support legislation and policies capable of creating jobs, expanding economic opportunities and improving the living conditions of constituents.
He identified youths and women as critical groups requiring greater attention, noting that economic hardship and unemployment had increased their vulnerability to social and criminal activities.
Abubakar said investing in skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment would help reduce poverty while contributing to the prevention of social vices and insecurity.
“Today, we are going to the National Assembly to make policies and laws that will bring development to our people.
“Whatever is due to our constituents in Dutse and Kiyawa, we are going to make sure we stand up and fight for it,” he said.
The candidate also pledged to monitor federal projects and programmes in the constituency and ensure that residents benefit from interventions implemented by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
He said his responsibilities, if elected, would extend beyond attracting projects to making quality laws, effective representation, oversight of government agencies and active participation in the national budget process.
He further promised to maintain regular consultations with constituents and ensure that their demands and priorities inform his legislative activities.
Abubakar thanked PDP leaders, stakeholders and supporters for their backing, saying the turnout at the campaign launch reflected the confidence and goodwill surrounding his candidature.
He called on voters in Dutse and Kiyawa to support his ambition, promising to make accountability, development, empowerment and effective representation the pillars of his proposed mandate.
