Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has approved the indefinite suspension of four of his aides in a move that comes on the heels of the recent suspension of a member of the House of Representatives and several All Progressives Congress (APC) officials in Auyo Local Government Area over alleged anti-party activities.
The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Bala Ibrahim.
Those affected are Abbas Makama, Senior Special Assistant on Flood Control I; Salisu Muhammad (Rosy Auyo), Special Assistant on Entrepreneurship; Ibrahim Yunusa, Special Assistant on Basic Education Monitoring III; and Umar Abdulkadir (Alhaji Bullet Auyo), Special Assistant on Cluster Farming.
Although the government did not state the specific reasons for the action, the development has generated political interest, particularly as three of the suspended aides are from Auyo Local Government Area, where the APC recently sanctioned some party members and officials for alleged acts considered detrimental to the party.
The APC in Auyo had last Sunday announced the suspension of the member representing Auyo/Hadejia/Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Kamfani Auyo, alongside six party officials, citing alleged anti-party activities and conduct capable of undermining the unity and progress of the ruling party in the area.
Political observers believe the suspension of the governor’s aides may not be unconnected with the ongoing efforts by the APC leadership and the state government to enforce party discipline ahead of future political contests.
However, neither the state government nor the APC has officially linked the suspension of the aides to the disciplinary measures taken against the lawmaker and party officials.
The statement for the suspension was signed made available to TRUTHS FINDER in Dutse by the Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Isma’ila Ibrahim Dutse.
The affected aides are expected to remain on suspension pending further directives from the government.
All calls put on the mobile phone of the Member House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Kamfani not answered and the SMS message sent to him up to the time of filing this report never replied.
Findings by TRUTHS FINDER in the state revealed that the National Law maker held a political rally in Auyo town where he allegedly claimed to remain in APC despite the party denied him a return ticket in the recent party’s primary elections.
TRUTHS FINDER in the state further gathered that Hon. Auyo during the political rally allegedly made some statements not sweetable to APC in the area and Jigawa State.
